First Team - Weekly Report
Marcham 0 v 5 Wootton 27/10/07
Without doubt our best showing this season. Good football from the outset
signalled our intention and we had a shot cleared off their goaline after
30 secs.We scored our first goal after 8 minutes and did not look back
scoring again just before half time through Nick Ridge after great work
by lovers down the right hand side.After the break we came out strong and
scored three more goals the pick of which was Mark Uttleys a brilliant
effort after coming off the bench.A good all round performance and a clean
sheet, this result was crucial because of our league position.
We need to try to build on this result and take our season forward from
here.

Grove Rangers 1 v 3 Wootton 20/10/07
After last weeks result we all needed to be more professional with
our approach.On a very tight pitch we found difficulty getting going.
After a very forgetable 90 mins we came through 3 to 1 winners with
Simon Matthews man of the match, which speaks volumes about our performance,but
its a win and sees us in the next round of the cup.

Faringdon v Wootton 13/10/07
More of the same unfortunately,after a good result and performance
last week we fell into the same trap as in previous games.We started
the game brightly and more than matched the opposition, going in front
through a well taken Mark Loveridge goal after approx. 20 mins. The lead
lasted until 8 mins from time and once again we let it slip after a lack
of concentration at the back let in Faringdon who scored two in as many
minutes
Very dissapointing considering the good play that had ensued,we simply
have to learn from our mistakes.
